The HP Stream 8 was unveiled in September 2014 alongside its 7 inch variant called the HP Stream 7. At the time of global announcement, the HP had priced the Stream 7 and Stream 8 at $99.99 and $149.99 respectively. As mentioned above, the HP Stream 8 is a 3G enabled tablet with a single SIM card slot and it runs on Windows 8.1 preinstalled. The slate boasts of an 8 inch HD IPS anti-glare display with a resolution of 1280×720 pixels and incorporates an Intel Atom Z3735G quad core processor clocked at 1.8 GHz. This processor is backed by Intel HD graphics unit and 1 GB of RAM. For the imaging aspects, the HP Stream 8 flaunts a 5 MP primary camera at its back with auto focus, but it lacks LED flash for enhanced low light performance. At the front, the slate from HP uses a 2 MP selfie camera. There is 32 GB of internal storage capacity that can be extended externally by another 32 GB with the help of a micro SD card. Connectivity features of the HP Stream 8 include 3G HSPA+, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.0, GPS with A-GPS and GLONASS. The slate draws its energy from a 4,000 mAh battery, but the backup rendered by the same remains unknown. Also, the Stream 8 tablet is comes with free Microsoft Office license for a year and 1 TB of OneDrive cloud storage space.
